On Saturday, the United States carried out a new series of airstrikes against Iran.

The US Central Command stated that the strikes targeted two categories of facilities: equipment that could be used to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and armed elements of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps accused of attacking US personnel in Jordan.

The US Central Command indicated that the airstrike operation was ordered by President Trump and commenced at 6:00 PM Eastern Time (06:00 Beijing Time) that day.
