Veteran community supermarkets in Tongzhou District are accelerating their renewal. On December 28, the Yonghui World Village store in Tongzhou, which has served the surrounding community for 10 years, completed its adjustments and reopened with a new look. The Lotus Supercenter store, carrying 20 years of emotional memories for Tongzhou residents, also recently completed a comprehensive upgrade, welcoming customers under the new identity of Lotus Hub. On December 30, the Yonghui Banbi Store, which has accompanied residents of Liyuan for 12 years, will also make its renewed debut.
Stepping into the renovated Yonghui World Village store, the festive atmosphere of the New Year is immediately palpable. At the supermarket entrance, New Year goods such as couplets, "Fu" character decorations, New Year flowers, and zodiac ornaments are abundantly displayed. Further inside, freshly prepared delicacies like dumplings, wontons, lamb skewers, roast duck, European bread, and egg tarts add a strong sense of vitality to the supermarket. The store manager explained that targeting the stable family customer base in the area, the store has further enriched its selection of high-quality pre-made meals and ready-to-eat items, providing daily meal solutions for its regular customers. With the New Year's Day holiday approaching, the store has also selected over a hundred popular items, offering discounts through direct price reductions and spend-and-save promotions to celebrate the new year together.
Following this adjustment, the store's product mix has reached 80% of the product structure found at Pang Donglai, and a dedicated section for Pang Donglai's own brands has been simultaneously established, allowing nearby residents to purchase Pang Donglai's popular products close to home. "The service is better than before; now you can have a hot tea to warm up before shopping," remarked one customer. In the convenience service area, many customers come to drink tea, and facilities such as microwaves, handwashing stations, weighing scales, and tables and chairs are provided for customer use.
On December 30, the Yonghui Banbi Store, also located in Tongzhou District, will debut with a new "Pang Yonghui" image. The store manager introduced that this store focuses on providing one-stop family life solutions. Beyond ensuring the supply of basic daily necessities, the store has specifically enriched its selection of scenario-based products like hot pot ingredients to meet winter and holiday family gathering needs, and offers convenient services such as free processing of meat and poultry and on-site cleaning of aquatic products.
It's not just Yonghui; the veteran supermarket chain Lotus Supercenter has also undergone a renewal upgrade. On December 25, the renovated Lotus Supercenter Tongzhou store returned with a new image, transformed into the community commercial complex, Lotus Hub. For this renovation, Lotus Supercenter also learned from Pang Donglai's practices, implementing comprehensive upgrades from spatial environment and product mix to service experience, while also introducing a Pang Donglai customized product area. The supermarket added over 60 convenience facilities catering to different groups, such as free drinking water stations and mother-and-baby rooms, making shopping more pleasant.
The newly established "Zhengda Kitchen" in the store, its first outlet in Tongzhou, features a Thai chef preparing authentic Thai cuisine on-site. Residents can now enjoy genuine specialties like Tom Yum Mama Noodles, Thai Chicken Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice with Fresh Shrimp, Sour and Spicy Pork Ribs, and Papaya Salad right in their neighborhood.
Within the three-story space of Lotus Hub, besides the supermarket, diverse formats such as a children's playground, fitness center, restaurants, a cinema, and electronics specialty stores have been introduced, achieving a transformation from a traditional supermarket to a neighborhood living space. The cinema located on the third floor is scheduled to open after the New Year's Day holiday.
