Realord Technology Company Limited (Realord Technology; HK: 01196) has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Longma ICI Limited to explore the design, construction, ownership and operation of a large-scale artificial intelligence data centre (AIDC) in Johor, Malaysia.
Signed on 8 October 2026 between Realord Technology’s indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Realord AI Technology Group Limited, and the independent third-party Project Facilitator, the MOU outlines plans to acquire land in Johor and develop purpose-built data-centre facilities to support artificial intelligence, cloud and other high-performance computing workloads.
Project Scope and Scale • Planned capacity: up to 300 MW, to be built in phases. • Phase 1 target: approximately 100 MW. • Infrastructure: power distribution, cooling systems and ancillary facilities tailored for high-density computing.
Roles and Responsibilities • Realord Technology will leverage its property development and project-management expertise in constructing and operating the AIDC. • The Project Facilitator will assist in land acquisition discussions, coordinate technical and commercial resources, and contribute experience in project planning, financing and operations.
Regulatory and Commercial Milestones • The Group will undertake detailed feasibility studies, land due diligence and regulatory assessments, including compliance with Malaysia’s Data Centre Task Force requirements. • Progress to binding agreements is contingent on satisfactory assessments, negotiations with land sellers and regulatory approvals. • The MOU is not legally binding except for standard provisions on confidentiality, termination and dispute resolution.
Strategic Rationale Management cites accelerating regional demand for AI and cloud-computing infrastructure—particularly from Singapore and surrounding Southeast Asian markets—and Johor’s land availability as key drivers. The initiative aligns with Realord Technology’s strategy to extend its property development capabilities into the digital-infrastructure sector.
Cautionary Note The Project remains at a preliminary stage and may or may not proceed. Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the Company’s securities. Further announcements will be made in accordance with Hong Kong Listing Rules.
