China Eastern Airlines will inaugurate the Xi'an-Jiaxing air route on January 16. The aircraft for this newly launched route, flight numbers MU6787/6788, is planned to operate daily using China Eastern's A320 series aircraft. The flight is scheduled to depart from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport at 7:30 AM daily, arriving at Jiaxing Nanhu Airport at 9:40 AM. The return leg will take off from Jiaxing at 10:30 AM and land back in Xi'an at 1:05 PM. Jiaxing Nanhu Airport is the first specialized air cargo hub in the Yangtze River Delta, positioned as a professional air freight hub that prioritizes cargo while also accommodating passenger traffic. Local authorities in Jiaxing have already launched a series of activities under the theme "Traveling to Jiaxing by Air." Passengers arriving in Jiaxing via this route can enjoy comprehensive cultural and tourism discounts covering "dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, and shopping" throughout the entire city by presenting a valid boarding pass for Jiaxing that is within 7 days of arrival. The establishment of this route not only marks the first regular direct flight connection between the two cities, significantly shortening the travel time between Shaanxi Province and northeastern Zhejiang, but will also effectively promote exchanges and cooperation in commerce, tourism, and culture between the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the starting point of the Silk Road. It injects new aviation momentum for Jiaxing's connectivity with important central and western urban agglomerations.
