Stock News09:30

YOFC (06869) opened nearly 6% higher in Hong Kong trading. At the time of writing, the stock was up 5.72% to HK$22.90, with a turnover of HK$79.234 million. The movement follows news that on May 6, NVIDIA and Corning entered into a multi-year commercial and technology collaboration. Under the agreement, Corning will build three new advanced manufacturing facilities in North Carolina and Texas, dedicated to producing optical connectivity solutions for NVIDIA. NVIDIA has invested $500 million to secure equity warrants in Corning, obtaining two immediately exercisable warrants. Reports indicate Corning plans to increase its U.S. optical connectivity manufacturing capacity tenfold and boost fiber optic production by more than 50%. This expansion directly responds to accelerating demand driven by the construction of AI factories. The companies stated that modern AI workloads require thousands of NVIDIA GPUs, creating unprecedented demand for high-performance fiber optics, connectors, and photonic components.
