Robinhood Chain's Daily Revenue Overtakes Ethereum as Meme Coin Trading Takes the Lead

On August 30th, Robinhood Chain, which has only been live for two months, posted $2.66 million in daily application revenue, ranking second only to Solana's $5.07 million and surpassing both Ethereum and the Base network to hit a record high. The network processed 5.52 million transactions that day, with decentralized exchange trading volume reaching approximately $875 million.

Data shows that about 22,600 tokens were issued that day via the Pons platform, a jump of more than 40% from the previous day. The majority of these tokens are meme coins featuring animal themes or chasing trending narratives, which can be created within minutes, rather than the tokenized stocks and other traditional assets originally envisioned for the chain. The GMGN meme coin trading tool, along with Pons and Uniswap, accounted for roughly 88% of the total revenue combined.

Robinhood Chain launched on July 1st as an Ethereum-compatible network, with tokenized stocks positioned as its core use case, aiming to bring traditional assets onto the blockchain. However, just two weeks after its debut, meme coin trading had already captured the majority of transaction volume. Daily transaction counts surged from under one million in early July to more than five million.

As the broader cryptocurrency market has rebounded, speculative activity has accelerated. One of the network's largest meme coins, Cash Cat, more than doubled in value during the week ending August 25th. Analysts note that meme coin trading tools and token launch platforms have emerged as the primary drivers of activity on the network.
