Ping An Good Doctor Q3 Report: Net Profit Surges 35%, Yet Stock Hits New Low

Deep News10-26 22:40

On the evening of October 22, Ping An Health Medical Technology Company Limited (01833.HK) released its results for the first three quarters of 2026, reporting total revenue of 3.508 billion yuan, down 5.8% year-on-year; net profit of 248 million yuan, up 35% year-on-year. Adjusted net profit was 258 million yuan, up 19.5% year-on-year.

However, the surge in profit failed to rescue market sentiment. The stock closed down 4.06% on the day of the announcement, touched HK$5.29 during intraday trading on October 23, setting a new 52-week low, with a cumulative decline of 60.76% since the start of the year.

Why did profits surge while the stock price fell? First, the company's revenue decline is widening rather than narrowing. According to the first three quarters of 2026 results, the company's revenue in the first half fell only 0.7% year-on-year, but the decline widened to 5.8% in the first three quarters. Back-calculating from this, third-quarter revenue alone was approximately 1.024 billion yuan, with a significantly deepened year-on-year decline. Ping An Good Doctor explained in its announcement that this was due to "proactively optimizing the revenue structure and reducing low-margin businesses."

More noteworthy is the single-quarter performance. Subtracting the interim report figure of 220 million yuan from the first three quarters' 248 million yuan, third-quarter net profit was only about 28 million yuan, a sequential plunge of nearly 90%. In the first half of 2026, Ping An Good Doctor's gross margin was 38.5%, up 4.9 percentage points year-on-year; adjusted net margin was 7.4%, up 2 percentage points year-on-year.

Additionally, 40% of Ping An Good Doctor's revenue comes from the Ping An ecosystem. Interim data shows that in the first half of 2026, the company provided products and services to Ping An-affiliated parties totaling 1.048 billion yuan, up about 50% year-on-year, accounting for more than 40% of total revenue and still rising. The enterprise health management business that the market raves about generated revenue of 714 million yuan in the first half of 2026, up 65.1% year-on-year; paying corporate customers exceeded 8,100, up nearly 60% year-on-year.

While peers are growing, the company is falling behind. The revenue decline cannot be entirely attributed to industry headwinds. Over the same period, JD Health (06618.HK) reported first-half revenue of 40.888 billion yuan, up 15.9% year-on-year, and net profit of approximately 3.437 billion yuan, up 32.4% year-on-year, with a scale more than 16 times that of Ping An Good Doctor.

CICC maintained its "outperform" rating with a target price of HK$8.30, implying about 49% upside from the current price of HK$5.525. The average target price of 11 institutions is HK$9.47, implying about 71% upside; but CICC's own target price has been revised down from HK$14.20 in May to HK$8.30, with even the most optimistic sell-side chasing a downward-moving anchor.

Ping An Good Doctor's core issue is not whether it is "cheap now," but whether its operational problems can be contained. With no revenue inflection point in sight, slow margin improvement, and weak cash flow, the valuation logic has shifted to a distressed reversal. If revenue turns positive and the proportion of related-party revenue declines, valuation may recover; if revenue continues to decline and goodwill impairment or reduced group support occurs, caution is still warranted near 1x PB.
