Global Payments (GPN) shares tumbled 5.84% in pre-market trading on Wednesday after the company reported second-quarter 2026 financial results that fell short of analyst expectations on key metrics.
The company posted adjusted revenue of $3.16 billion, narrowly missing the IBES consensus estimate of $3.168 billion. GAAP earnings per share came in at just $0.05, which weighed heavily on investor sentiment. For the full fiscal year, Global Payments issued an adjusted EPS outlook of $13.60 to $13.80 and guided for adjusted revenue growth of 4% to 5%, which may have also disappointed some market participants.
The pre-market decline reversed a portion of the recent upward momentum that had lifted the stock 12.23% over the past 30 days and 26.74% over the prior 90 days, as the results prompted a reassessment of the company's near-term growth trajectory.
