Deep News08-29

Recently, Bestore Co.,Ltd. faced criticism for a promotional image of one of its products that depicted "peanuts growing on trees," which was labeled as "lacking common sense" and sparked widespread discussion. On August 28, Bestore Co.,Ltd. responded by acknowledging that they had incorrectly used AI-generated image materials in their e-commerce platform product detail pages. Upon discovering the issue, they immediately updated and corrected the relevant pages and have initiated a comprehensive scientific accuracy review of all product promotional materials.

Reporters found that the erroneous images have been replaced across multiple e-commerce platforms' Bestore flagship stores when searching for the product in question.

In April 2025, media reported that some online shoppers were purchasing "peanuts that grow on trees." Zhang Jun from the Peanut Research Institute of Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences explained in a media interview that peanuts are crops that bloom above ground but produce fruit underground, stating that "with current technology, regardless of the method used, peanuts will ultimately need to grow in the soil."

Therefore, Bestore's product promotional image was criticized by netizens as lacking common sense, with comments such as "Fortunately, I planted peanuts as a child, otherwise I would have been fooled" and "Peanuts all grow in the soil; I've never seen peanuts growing on trees."

On August 28, Bestore Co.,Ltd. responded, stating that due to work oversight, they incorrectly used AI-generated image materials in their e-commerce platform product detail pages, which led to unnecessary misunderstandings and discussions. "We sincerely apologize to all friends who care about and support us. After discovering the problem, Bestore immediately updated and corrected the relevant pages and has initiated a comprehensive scientific accuracy review of all product promotional materials. Meanwhile, Bestore is further upgrading its content review mechanisms and optimizing internal management processes to ensure that all future content output is more rigorous and reliable."
