On Friday, rare earth stocks showed notable gains. As of the time of reporting, Critical Metals (CRML.US) soared over 13%, USA Rare Earth (USAR.US) increased by more than 3.5%, and MP Materials (MP.US) rose over 3.7%. The uplift comes after news that the U.S. government, in collaboration with private equity firm Orion Resource Partners and the Abu Dhabi sovereign fund ADQ, has established a critical minerals investment fund. The three parties have committed an initial capital of $1.8 billion, with a targeted final size of $5 billion. The fund will prioritize investments in existing or soon-to-be operational assets rather than early-stage exploration projects.
