On October 22, Qiu Xiandong, Chairman and Party Secretary of China FAW Group, and Feng Xingya, Chairman and Party Secretary of GAC Group, jointly attended the kickoff meeting for their joint working group held at GAC Group headquarters, where they also held working talks.
Grounded in the broader strategic vision of building China into an automotive powerhouse, the two sides held in-depth discussions and built consensus around further advancing key cooperation projects and deepening North-South industrial coordination under their previously signed strategic cooperation framework agreement, injecting strong confidence into the orderly advancement of their strategic partnership.
Fang Shili, Standing Committee Member and Chief Accountant of China FAW Group, and Liu Changqing, Assistant General Manager, as well as GAC Group Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager He Xianqing, Deputy Party Secretary Cao Xiaojun, Executive Deputy General Manager Gao Rui and other members of the GAC Group leadership team, participated in the talks and kickoff meeting.
Qiu Xiandong expressed sincere gratitude to GAC Group for its long-standing care and support of China FAW Group, and thanked both teams for their diligent efforts in this cooperation.
He pointed out that the automotive industry is a strategic pillar of the national economy. Recently, the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Industry" and the National Advanced Manufacturing Conference further clarified the direction for sustained, healthy and high-quality development of the real economy.
The cooperation between China FAW Group and GAC Group is a concrete manifestation of state-owned enterprises fulfilling the "three roles," striving to be the "three pioneers," and delivering the "three services," and it highly aligns with the development needs of both sides and will exert a positive demonstration and leading effect on the automotive industry.
He said both sides must establish a unified will, common goals, and firm confidence, rapidly advancing in core areas such as passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, batteries, electric drive, intelligent technology and overseas markets, achieving a "1+1>2" synergistic effect.
China FAW Group will, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee and with the strong support of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government and the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, work with GAC Group with the utmost sincerity and pragmatic action to carry out high-level coordination, solidify institutional safeguards, strengthen communication and exchanges, and fully execute plans to transform the cooperation blueprint into tangible development results, creating a new paradigm for central-local state-owned enterprise cooperation and contributing greater strength to the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry and the building of an automotive powerhouse.
Feng Xingya extended a warm welcome to China FAW Group for visiting GAC Group, thanked China FAW Group as a central state-owned enterprise for its long-standing care and support of GAC Group, and expressed gratitude to both teams for their continued close coordination.
He stated that since GAC Industry and China FAW Group signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on September 29, and following the signing of a new strategic cooperation framework agreement on October 8 among China FAW Group, Toyota Motor, and GAC Group with the support of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the teams of both China FAW Group and GAC Group have continued close consultations and communications.
The convening of this working meeting and the kickoff meeting of the joint working group represents a key action by GAC Group and China FAW Group to deepen the implementation of the strategic cooperation framework agreement.
While learning advanced experience from China FAW Group and enhancing its own capabilities, GAC Group must strengthen its awareness of cooperation, pursue efficiencies through synergy, and use communication to build trust and trust to support synergy.
He stressed that plans must be refined, milestones pressed forward, and agreement terms strictly implemented to ensure all tasks are smoothly carried out.

After the talks concluded, Qiu Xiandong and his delegation, accompanied by Feng Xingya and other GAC Group leaders, toured GAC Group's innovative technological achievements.
