On December 4, China National Nuclear Power Co.,Ltd. (CNNP) held a seminar in Beijing on the construction planning of nuclear power plant real-time digital twin systems, officially unveiling its intelligent operation and maintenance support system based on online simulation technology.
As the first pilot project in CNNP's digital twin power plant initiative, the system was jointly developed by Fuqing Nuclear Power and China Nuclear Power Engineering Co.,Ltd. Wuhan. It covers five major operational areas including operations, maintenance, technology, and emergency response, serving 16 production departments and 20 key application scenarios. This marks China's first full-scale real-time digital twin system based on system simulation.
Lu Tiezong, CNNP's Party Committee Secretary and Chairman, attended the meeting and delivered concluding remarks. The conference highlighted that digital twin power plant construction represents a crucial direction for the nuclear industry's digital transformation, playing a significant practical role in establishing a comprehensive digital development framework across the nuclear power industrial chain.
The meeting emphasized that CNNP must adhere to self-reform and innovative breakthroughs in advancing its digital-intelligent construction. Key priorities include achieving complete data integration, full software compatibility, and comprehensive application coverage to strengthen the foundation for digital transformation. The company will deepen the integration of AI, big data, and simulation technologies with nuclear power operations management, using technological innovation to enhance safe, stable, and cost-effective operations while supporting high-quality development of China's nuclear power sector.
Participants conducted in-depth discussions on the "CNNP Real-Time Digital Twin Power Plant Construction Plan" and outlined directions for future digital transformation work. Representatives from relevant CNNP departments, Fuqing Nuclear Power, China Nuclear Power Engineering Co.,Ltd. Wuhan, and operational research institutes attended the conference.
