China UnionPay Launches "Nihao China" APP to Enhance Convenience for Inbound Tourism

On December 19, 2025, China UnionPay officially launched the "Nihao China" APP during the China International Travel Mart held at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center. The app aims to provide foreign visitors with comprehensive digital services covering payments, transportation, daily life, and cultural tourism, offering a seamless, intelligent, and user-friendly experience to enhance inbound travel convenience and support China's broader opening-up strategy.

**Integrated Core Features: Building a "Payment + Mobility" Ecosystem** The "Nihao China" APP focuses on payments and mobility, integrating multiple practical functions. For payments, it supports top-up via UnionPay international cards, Visa, Mastercard, and other mainstream bank cards, enabling diversified QR code payments across high-frequency scenarios like transportation, accommodation, and shopping. For mobility, the app covers metro systems in 43 major cities and buses in over 1,760 county-level cities, allowing "one-code access" and providing navigation to nearby ATMs and currency exchange points. It also offers real-time exchange rates for 160+ currencies, including USD, CNY, and EUR.

**Leveraging Platform Strengths: Multi-Party Collaboration to Address Pain Points** As the app’s lead developer, China UnionPay leverages its platform to foster partnerships and improve cultural tourism services. The app integrates UnionPay, WeChat Pay, and Alipay networks for broader payment coverage and supports payments across 300+ platforms like 12306, Ctrip, Meituan, and JD.com. Additionally, it streamlines tax refunds for departures in key cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen with OCR recognition, QR code interactions, and English interfaces.

**Tech-Driven Enhancements: Elevating Service Depth and Warmth** The app includes real-time translation tools to overcome language barriers and AI-powered query functions for attractions, transport, and dining recommendations. Personalized navigation and route planning further enhance user experience.

During the travel mart, UnionPay showcased the app alongside other initiatives like the "Beautiful China Card," tax refund services, and cross-border payment solutions.
