Fuel Price Adjustment Alert: Significant Changes Expected

Deep News10:55

The situation has shifted! The 15th fuel price adjustment cycle for 2026 has entered its second statistical working day as of July 21st. The pricing window for this round is scheduled to open at midnight on July 31st, with 10 days remaining until the adjustment and 20% of the cycle's data already compiled. The latest monitoring data indicates a projected increase of 530 yuan per ton for gasoline and 510 yuan per ton for diesel. Converted to retail prices, this translates to a rise of 0.42 yuan per liter for 92-octane gasoline, 0.45 yuan per liter for 95-octane gasoline, and 0.44 yuan per liter for 0-grade diesel. The probability of a substantial upward adjustment in this pricing cycle is high.

Influenced by US-Iran tensions, international oil prices surged on July 21st. At the time of writing, Brent crude oil has broken through $91.49 per barrel.

Refueling in the early morning or late evening tends to be most economical. Since gasoline is sold by volume rather than weight, and the principle of thermal expansion and contraction causes gasoline volume to expand during the high temperatures of midday and contract during the cooler temperatures of morning and evening, refueling during the cooler parts of the day can yield more mass for the same volume, making it more cost-effective. When refueling, vehicle owners can communicate with station staff to add fuel in units of 10 liters—such as 10, 20, and so on—which can help maximize value.
