Tesla, 10+ Automakers Roll Out Price Incentives; Industry Says Demand-Supply Adjustment, Not Price War

Tesla China on Sept. 7 launched a limited-time in-stock incentive: orders taken and delivered by Sept. 30 qualify for a 5,000 yuan cash rebate on Model 3 variants and a 10,000 yuan rebate on Model Y variants; rebates can be combined with five-year 0% financing.

Over the past two weeks more than ten brands across luxury, joint-venture, domestic and new-energy segments have offered time-limited purchase incentives — including in-stock cash rebates, insurance subsidies, zero-interest finance and enhanced trade-in offers.

CPCA secretary-general Cui Dongshu said these measures are market actions to rebalance supply and demand during the key September sales window, describing them as pulse sales and inventory-clearance efforts rather than the start of a broad price war.
