BYD Company Limited (BYD) has announced a significant milestone in the Thai market, with cumulative deliveries of its new energy vehicles surpassing 130,000 units.
This achievement coincides with the second anniversary of operations for the company's local manufacturing plant.
The company also introduced the brand ambassador for its BYD SEALION 5 DM-i model and announced the pre-sale price for the Standard version of that vehicle during a recent event.
Key company executives, including the General Manager of BYD Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd., were present to mark the delivery of the 130,000th vehicle, a moment shared with partners, media, and consumer representatives.
Key Developments in the Thai Market
The 130,000th delivery is a testament to the growing acceptance of new energy vehicles among Thai consumers.
Simultaneously, the company celebrated two years of production at its Rayong plant, located in the WHA Industrial Estate.
This facility is BYD's first overseas passenger car production base, with an annual designed capacity of 150,000 vehicles.
Five models are currently being produced locally at the plant, all of which have received the Made in Thailand (MiT) certification from the Federation of Thai Industries.
Commitment to Localization and Economic Impact
Over the past two years, BYD has significantly deepened its localization efforts in Thailand.
The Rayong factory has created over 5,000 jobs, with approximately 93% of the workforce being Thai nationals.
The localization rate for parts procurement has reached 50%, contributing to the development of Thailand's automotive supply chain and supporting the growth of the country's new energy vehicle industry.
The General Manager of BYD Auto (Thailand) stated that the plant's anniversary and the delivery milestone are key achievements from the company's deep commitment to the Thai market, reflecting strong consumer trust in the BYD brand.
He emphasized BYD's ongoing efforts to enhance its manufacturing system, improve supply chain collaboration, cultivate local talent, and support Thailand's economic and green transportation transition.

Looking ahead, the company plans to continue focusing on technological innovation, introducing advanced global new energy vehicle technologies, and improving its products and services.
BYD aims to further deepen its local presence and collaborate with partners to advance Thailand's NEV industry, supporting the nation's goal of becoming an ASEAN hub for new energy vehicles.
At the event, BYD officially announced renowned Thai actress Sirilak Kwong as the brand ambassador for the BYD SEALION 5 DM-i.
