On April 19, at the Wuhu stop of the second China Intelligent Driving Championship organized by First Electric, the Chery Exeed Sterra ET, equipped with the one-stage end-to-end advanced driver-assistance solution jointly developed by WeRide Inc. and Bosch, once again claimed the top position with a dominant lead of over 10 points ahead of the second-place competitor. This victory marks WeRide's WRD 3.0 one-stage end-to-end technology as the first and only solution to achieve a "four-peat" in the history of the competition, further demonstrating its substantial technical lead in complex urban scenarios.
From its initial win at the Taizhou stop to maintaining an undefeated record, the outstanding performance of WeRide WRD 3.0 is not accidental but reflects the company's deep technical accumulation and engineering execution capabilities.
Continuous technological iteration is central to WeRide's approach. By integrating real-world operational data from its L4 fully autonomous vehicles and its self-developed WeRide GENESIS general simulation world model, the company systematically and efficiently reproduces scattered, rare long-tail scenarios from the real world. This enables ongoing training, validation, and optimization of algorithms, forming a closed-loop process that moves from real roads to simulation and back to real-world application. This process endows vehicles with strong scenario generalization capabilities and the ability to self-optimize for increasingly smoother performance.
Thoroughly tested and refined, WRD 3.0 is capable not only of holistic understanding and global planning in highly complex traffic environments but also of maintaining stable, smooth, efficient, and safe driving behavior in even more unpredictable settings such as urban villages, marketplaces, and mixed traffic roads.
WRD 3.0's advantages extend beyond algorithmic capabilities to include a complete engineering system. Addressing core requirements for safety, stability, and consistency in mass-production ADAS, WeRide has conducted in-depth engineering optimizations across multiple areas including computing power adaptation, architecture design, and system redundancy. Through deep hardware-software decoupling, WRD 3.0 delivers consistent mass-production functionality and user experience whether using vision-only or multi-sensor fusion configurations, with or without high-definition maps, and across varying levels of onboard computing power.
The championship-proven capabilities of WRD 3.0 have already been implemented in mass-production models such as the Chery Exeed Sterra ES and ET, as well as the GAC Aion N60. The all-new Chery Exeed EX7, equipped with the same award-winning solution, was officially launched on April 19.
Looking ahead, this solution will continue to serve domestic users of brands including GAC Aion, GAC Trumpchi, GAC Hyper, Chery Exeed, and Chery Exeed Sterra through pre-installed software or OTA updates. It will also gradually expand to overseas brands such as Tiggo, Lepas, Omoda, and JAECOO, promoting the global adoption of mature Chinese intelligent driving solutions validated in complex road scenarios.
