Feitian Moutai Edges Higher, Sustained High-Level Consolidation Continues After July 18 Price Increase

Deep News08-04 09:20

Data from the last 24 hours indicates that the total retail price of major Chinese baijiu products saw a notable decline on August 4, erasing much of the previous day's gains and falling back below the 9,900 yuan mark. Market sentiment weakened again, with bears regaining the upper hand, disrupting the pace of recovery from low levels. Among the 11 major baijiu products tracked, three rose, seven fell, and one remained unchanged, with losers dominating the session.

On the upside, Xijiu Junpin saw the largest increase, rising 3 yuan per bottle to set a new high since May 19 this year. Feitian Moutai and Wuliangye 1618 both edged up 1 yuan per bottle, with the former ending a three-day losing streak, extending its high-level consolidation pattern after the July 18 price hike, while the latter rose for a second consecutive day. On the downside, Qinghua Fen 20 posted the steepest drop, falling 7 yuan per bottle, marking its largest single-day decline in nearly a month, a technical pullback after matching a near-month high the previous day. Wuliangye Puwu VIII, Yanghe Dream Blue M6+, and Gujing Gong Gu 20 each declined by 5 yuan per bottle. The two-day winning streak for Puwu VIII ended, putting short-term pressure on its low-level recovery. Dream Blue M6+ gave back all of its gains from the previous session. Gujing Gong Gu 20 continued its low-level range-bound trend within the month. Guojiao 1573 fell 4 yuan per bottle, retreating after a rebound the previous day. Jingpin Moutai dropped 3 yuan per bottle, declining for a second straight day, with its price falling to a near-month low. Crystal Jiannanchun slipped 1 yuan per bottle, matching a near-month low record. Qinghua Lang remained unchanged from the previous day, holding at 706 yuan per bottle for two consecutive sessions.

The daily data is sourced from approximately 200 collection points distributed across major regions in China, including designated distributors, social distributors, e-commerce platforms, and retail outlets. The raw sampling data captures actual transaction terminal retail prices over the past 24 hours, aiming to provide objective, scientific, and fully traceable data on the market prices of major baijiu products. Since the official iMoutai platform began selling Feitian Moutai at 1,499 yuan per bottle on January 1 (raised to 1,539 yuan on March 31, and further to 1,639 yuan on July 18), and Jinpin Moutai at 2,299 yuan per bottle on January 9 (raised to 2,359 yuan on May 16), this new channel's magnetic influence on the terminal retail prices of both products has gradually emerged. The daily prices published follow a volume-weighted calculation rule, incorporating measurable prices from this channel into the retail price calculation.

In related industry news, an analysis article titled "Stock Price Rebounds Strongly, Understanding Moutai's Most Critical Battle This Year" noted that Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd.'s stock rose 13.96% in July, reaching a new high since October 2024. From a capital market perspective, the stock recovery reflects market recognition of Moutai's reform logic. Unlike industry peers who rely on reducing supply or defending prices to maintain performance, Moutai controls consumer dynamics through channel flattening, product matrix differentiation via pricing, and market circulation purification by reforming the manufacturer-distributor model. In an increasingly rational baijiu consumption environment marked by fierce competition for existing market share, Moutai's consumer-centric, market-driven operating system not only strengthens its own leading position but also provides a replicable model for the transformation of other top-tier baijiu companies. For its 240,000 secondary market shareholders, the shift from relying on brand dividends to refined market operations means more sustainable growth in performance.
