Shares of Capital Clean Energy Carriers Corp. (CCEC) plummeted 6.58% during intraday trading on Thursday, following the release of the company's fourth-quarter financial results.
The shipping company reported a net income of $0.62 per share for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2025, a significant decline from $1.74 per share in the same period a year earlier. While this result beat the analyst consensus estimate of $0.48 per share, the company's revenue of $98.3 million fell short of the $103.5 million forecast by analysts.
The earnings release detailed the company's ongoing strategic shift from container shipping to a gas transportation platform, including new vessel orders and the sale of container assets. Management highlighted strong cash generation from its modern LNG fleet but the market reacted negatively to the year-over-year decline in bottom-line profitability.
