On October 23, Apple (AAPL) released its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. A scalper buying stock from an offline store in Shenzhen told Yicai that the 512GB and 1TB storage versions of the iPhone Duo both carry a premium of around 1,500 yuan, while the 2TB version carries a premium of only a few hundred yuan.
The markups are notably smaller than the several-thousand-yuan premiums that e-commerce platforms had listed in advance. According to one scalper, the reason is that there is already plenty of supply on the market.
