Industrial revitalization is the top priority in rural revitalization. Based on its resource endowments, the county adheres to a development approach driven by leading enterprises, integration of the three industries, and value-added chain extension, focusing on high-quality "local specialties" such as millet, peanuts, miscellaneous grains, and peaches. It promotes the transformation and upgrading of specialty agriculture from traditional single planting to a full industry chain integrating production, processing, and sales, allowing more high-quality agricultural products to move from fields to dining tables and from primary raw grain products to deeply processed goods, comprehensively enhancing agricultural added value, brand influence, and market competitiveness.
Right now, the 670 mu of peanuts in Xisanjia Village, Mutou Chengzi Town, have entered harvest season. Harvesting machinery moves back and forth, and plump peanuts are continuously transported to local processing enterprises, beginning the value-added transformation from field to workshop. At present, the county's peanut planting area has reached 5,000 mu, with a goal of expanding to 8,000 mu by 2028, driving more farmers to share in the dividends of industrial development. Li Guohui, manager of Chaoyang Xingnong Seed Industry Co., Ltd., told reporters: "We are turning small peanuts into a big industry. The peanut processing plant is currently under preparation, and we have registered the 'Shuanglinghe' brand peanut oil. From fields to dining tables, we let people eat reassuring peanut oil, forming a closed industry loop from planting to harvest."
The quality improvement and upgrading of the peanut industry is a vivid microcosm of the county's efforts to strengthen deep processing of agricultural products and promote value-added and efficiency-enhancing development of specialty agriculture. From "selling raw grain" to "selling products," the county treats deep processing as a key lever for improving the quality and efficiency of specialty industries. Around advantageous agricultural products such as millet, peanuts, miscellaneous grains, and peaches, it encourages leading enterprises and cooperatives to improve links including screening, filling, storage, and packaging, promoting standardized production and branded marketing. Liaoning Chaoyang Agricultural Products Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd. has deeply cultivated local specialty industries and established long-term stable cooperative relationships with 13 planting cooperatives across the county, providing regular planting guidance and uniformly purchasing qualified agricultural products at above-market prices after the autumn harvest, effectively safeguarding farmers' planting income. The industry chain is stretching longer and longer, and the market competitiveness of specialty agricultural products is continuously strengthening. Zhou Qiyuan, chairman of Liaoning Chaoyang Agricultural Products Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd., told reporters: "We not only sell Chaoyang County millet, but also integrate citywide specialties such as Jianping millet and Beipiao honey. When customers come to our Chaoyang Agricultural Products, they can buy all of Chaoyang's good products in one stop. Selling under the same brand as a package is much stronger than going it alone."
Good products cannot be separated from good brands. Relying on its cultivation advantages as a "National Famous, Special, Excellent and New Agricultural Product," the county promotes specialty brands such as "Sanyan Millet" to explore new markets and go nationwide, develops e-commerce marketing, deeply taps agricultural cultural heritage, and drives the transformation of specialty agricultural products from "single-point blooming" to "whole-area fruiting." When brands shine, sales channels widen, and farmers have more motivation to grow grain. Next, the county will continue to optimize the agricultural industrial structure, vigorously promote the planting of high-quality specialty varieties, shore up shortcomings in deep processing of agricultural products, actively develop high-value-added products such as peach juice, miscellaneous grain powder, and peanut oil, improve the production-processing-sales linkage mechanism, extend the industrial chain, enhance the value chain, and empower comprehensive rural revitalization through high-quality development of specialty industries, making agriculture stronger, rural areas more beautiful, and farmers richer.
