Beijing, 27 Aug 2026 — China Datang Corporation Renewable Power Co., Limited (Datang Renewables; 01798) reported that shareholders overwhelmingly approved the sole motion at the company’s First Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of 2026, paving the way for a leadership reshuffle at the state-owned wind-power producer.
Voting snapshot • Total share capital eligible to vote: 7.27 billion shares • Shares represented at the EGM: 5.66 billion, equal to 77.84 % of issued capital • Resolution: Appointment of Mr. Zhao Gang as Executive Director – Votes in favour: 5.64 billion (99.59 %) – Votes against: 23.21 million (0.41 %) – Abstentions: none
With more than half of the votes cast in favour, the motion passed, resulting in Mr. Zhao Gang’s immediate appointment as Executive Director. The Board, at the same meeting, further elected him as Chairman and as Chairman of the Strategy Committee, also effective 27 August 2026. Zhao’s term will run concurrently with the current Board session, after which he will be eligible for re-election. His compensation will consist of salary, allowances, benefits in kind, discretionary bonuses and pension contributions; no separate directors’ fee will be paid.
Concurrently, Mr. Ying Xuejun resigned from his positions as Chairman, Executive Director and Chair of the Strategy Committee due to work adjustments. The company noted that Ying had no disagreement with the Board and that no other matters required shareholder or exchange attention.
No other shareholder proposals were submitted or voted upon at the EGM. Computershare Hong Kong Investor Services Limited acted as the poll scrutineer.
Following the changes, the Board of Datang Renewables comprises: • Executive Directors: Zhao Gang (Chairman), Wang Fanghong • Non-Executive Directors: Chen Zhijie, Rong Xiaojie, Shi Feng, Bai Li • Independent Non-Executive Directors: Qin Haiyan, Chow Hiu Tung, Lu Hao
The company expressed its appreciation for Ying Xuejun’s contributions during his tenure and confirmed there are no further disclosures required under Hong Kong Listing Rule 13.51(2).
