On October 15, HUANENG POWER fell 3.16% in regular trading, trading at HK$6.12, with turnover of HK$44.47 million.
The move followed the company’s latest operating update showing weaker power delivery and lower average settlement tariffs in the first three quarters, pointing to pressure on the revenue side.
According to the filing, electricity delivered by the company’s operating power plants in mainland China totaled 312.90 billion kWh in the first three quarters, down 5.60% year over year. Third-quarter delivered power was 113.321 billion kWh, down 9.90%, while the average on-grid settlement tariff for the first three quarters was RMB467.63 per MWh, down 2.32% from a year earlier. The company also disclosed 5,165 MW of newly added installed capacity, while Tuas Power’s generation market share in Singapore was 17.95%, down 1.97 percentage points.
