Dow Futures fell 0.05%, S&P 500 Futures fell 0.05%, Nasdaq Futures fell 0.10%, as tech optimism cooled slightly after Thursday’s rally.
ARM Holdings rose 1.93%. The move followed Thursday’s sharp rebound in chip and AI-linked shares, with multiple reports highlighting investors’ rotation back into semiconductors as the AI trade reignited and Arm featured among the session’s notable gainers.
Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) gained 1.36%. Reports said it plans to start producing its in-house “Iris” AI chip in September and expand computing capacity to 14 gigawatts next year, while unveiling its Muse Spark 1.1 model and a paid API priced at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens; Bloomberg also noted Meta is evaluating leasing AI compute to external clients.
Among other individual movers, Cerebras Systems (CBRS) advanced 1.58%.
