On the morning of July 19th, Huineng Group's integrated resource utilization and power grid project for 6 million tons of coal gangue and fly ash solid waste was launched at the Dalu Industrial Park in the Jungar Economic Development Zone.
The groundbreaking ceremony was well-attended, with staff from relevant units and project construction representatives gathering at the site, creating a solemn yet enthusiastic atmosphere. Various construction machinery and equipment were neatly arranged on one side of the site, with excavators, bulldozers, and engineering vehicles lined up and ready to commence work.
The total investment for this project is estimated at 67.5 billion yuan. Upon completion, it is expected to process 6 million tons of coal-based solid waste annually, producing 2 million tons of aluminum-silicon and silicon-aluminum-titanium multi-alloys, supported by a total installed capacity of 8 gigawatts from complementary wind and solar power generation.
The first phase, involving 1 million tons of aluminum-silicon alloy production and the integrated power grid project, represents a total investment of 36 billion yuan. Once operational, this phase is projected to utilize 2.6 million tons of coal-based solid waste per year, achieve an annual industrial output value of 16 billion yuan, generate 2.2 billion yuan in annual tax revenue, and create over 4,000 new jobs.
The project plans to establish a complete integrated industrial system by combining with supporting wind power, photovoltaic, waste heat power generation, and energy storage projects. It aims to build the largest comprehensive utilization base for high-alumina coal-based solid waste resources in China and serve as a model project for integrated power grid systems.
