Heytea Opens First Overseas Teabar in New York, Introducing Eight Tea-Based Specialty Drinks to the U.S. Market

Deep News06-08 11:02

Heytea has officially launched its first international teabar in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York.

This new outlet, which follows the successful establishment of teabars in cities like Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Foshan, offers nearly 30 products making their debut in the United States.

The menu spans several categories, including tea-based specialty drinks, bitter matcha and chocolate options, pure milk teas, and tea ice cream.

Core Product Focus

The tea-based specialty drinks, or "tea specials," are the central offering of this new teabar.

U.S. Market Debut

Eight of these tea specials are being introduced to the American market for the first time.

These include "Jasmine Guava Pear," which uses a premium nine-scented jasmine tea as its base, and "Mountain Oolong Yuzu Apple," featuring a mountain oolong tea for a refreshing taste.

Global Expansion of Tea Specials

The launch in New York is not the first international foray for this product category.

Heytea pioneered the "tea special" category in August 2025, and since its introduction, nearly 20 different tea specials have been rolled out in stores worldwide.

Innovative offerings like "Qilan Apple Apricot," "Qilan Guava Wax Apple," and "Triple Sweet Starfruit" have been part of this global expansion.

Successful Pre-Launches

In March of this year, "Snow Jasmine Guava" became the first tea special launched in the U.S. market, where it quickly topped sales charts and sold out in multiple regions within a month.

Following this success, another tea special, "Golden Guanyin Yuzu," was introduced in overseas markets including Australia in May, where it also experienced temporary sell-outs within a week of launch.

Store Design and Location

The New York teabar is designed with a blend of wood and concrete textures to create a relaxed and natural atmosphere.

Its location in the Upper East Side places it near Central Park, Museum Mile, and several cultural institutions.

Prior to the official opening, Heytea engaged with the local community by participating in events such as the Guggenheim Museum's Young Collectors Council Party and Central Park's Taste of Summer festival.

The company also collaborated with the well-known New York bakery, Levain Bakery.

Ongoing International Growth

This teabar opening follows the launch of Heytea's first overseas "heytea lab" in New York's Times Square in early 2025, which featured 10 globally exclusive products.

Heytea has now expanded into several international markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, operating over 100 stores in Greater China and overseas.

The United States has emerged as one of Heytea's most significant overseas markets, with more than 40 locations established to date.
