The Southern Science and Technology Innovation Board 50 ETF (03109) has risen more than 5%. At the time of writing, it is up 4.92%, trading at HK$17.29 with a turnover of HK$8.78 million.
On the morning of June 3rd, the Science and Technology Innovation Board 50 Index surged nearly 5%, with shares of related semiconductor industry chain companies such as Montage Technology, VeriSilicon, and Cambricon showing strong gains. The overnight Philadelphia Semiconductor Index also soared 5.87%, once again reaching a new all-time high during the session.
Recent research reports from industry institutions indicate that benefiting from the explosive growth of the AI industry, the total global semiconductor industry output value is projected to reach as high as $1.5 trillion by 2030.
It is noted that the Southern Science and Technology Innovation Board 50 ETF is the first ETF listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that tracks the Science and Technology Innovation Board 50 Index. In terms of its constituent stocks, a majority are from the currently popular semiconductor sector, including SMIC, Hygon Information, Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc., and Montage Technology.
