Xiaomi Increases Stake in Kingsoft Corporation Through Open Market Purchases

Deep News06-08

On June 8th, according to a disclosure of interests filing with the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, Xiaomi Corporation increased its shareholding in Kingsoft Corporation Limited through purchases on the open market. By the market close on that day, Xiaomi's ownership stake had risen to 5.39%.

This share purchase indirectly led to an increase in the proportion of shares held by Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, in Kingsoft. In response to this development, Xu Jieyun, the General Manager of the Public Relations Department at Xiaomi Corporation, stated: "We thank everyone for their attention. This is a case of Xiaomi increasing its stake in Kingsoft Corporation Limited on the open market with a compliant disclosure. Furthermore, the increase in Mr. Lei's shareholding proportion is a result of Xiaomi's purchase, not a personal acquisition. Xiaomi firmly believes in the long-term development prospects of Kingsoft and the strategic synergy between the two companies."
