As key members of listed companies' core management teams, Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) hold crucial positions and play vital roles. The 2024 A-Share CFO Data Report reveals that the total compensation for CFOs at A-share listed companies reached 4.27 billion yuan in 2024, with an average annual salary of 814,800 yuan.
From an industry perspective, the total CFO compensation in the plastics sector amounted to 479.254 million yuan, with an average compensation of 715,300 yuan, representing a year-over-year increase of 7.66%.
Regarding educational background, CFOs in the plastics industry are predominantly undergraduate degree holders at 50.75%, followed by master's degree holders at 29.85%, and associate degree holders at 19.40%.
In terms of age distribution, CFOs in the plastics industry are generally 40 years old or above. The youngest are Pret CFO Zhou Zhenlun and Bafei Electric CFO Tian Huifang, both born in 1993 and only 32 years old. In 2024, Zhou Zhenlun and Tian Huifang received compensation of 1.0962 million yuan and 395,300 yuan respectively, showing significant disparity.
The longest-serving CFO is Yinxi Technology's CFO Gu Xianfeng, who has served in the position since July 2011, spanning 14 years. In 2024, Gu Xianfeng earned an annual salary of 858,500 yuan, up 24.8% year-over-year, which is 20.02% higher than the industry average. In terms of business performance, Yinxi Technology achieved operating revenue of 2.022 billion yuan in 2024, up 21.4% year-over-year, and net profit of 51 million yuan, up 90.3% year-over-year.
Based on compensation levels, 12 listed companies have CFOs earning over one million yuan annually, accounting for 17.91% of total listed companies in the plastics industry.
Huibai New Materials CFO Shen Fei received the highest compensation at 2.6546 million yuan, approximately 3.7 times the industry average, equivalent to a daily salary of 10,600 yuan. This represents a slight decrease of 1.1% from the previous year's 2.6837 million yuan. In terms of business performance, Huibai New Materials achieved operating revenue of 1.42 billion yuan in 2024, up 3% year-over-year, and net profit of 8 million yuan, down 86% year-over-year.
Guanghua Shares CFO Wu Wenjuan received the lowest compensation at 224,700 yuan, less than one-third of the industry average. In terms of business performance, Guanghua Shares achieved operating revenue of 1.724 billion yuan, up 16.5% year-over-year, and net profit of 146 million yuan, up 39.1% year-over-year.
Intco Recycling CFO Li Hanming had the highest compensation increase, earning 729,300 yuan annually compared to 412,700 yuan in the previous year, representing a substantial increase of 76.9%. In terms of business performance, Intco Recycling achieved operating revenue of 2.924 billion yuan, up 19.1% year-over-year, and net profit of 307 million yuan, up 57.1% year-over-year.
Yuxing Shares CFO Wang Changyong experienced the largest compensation decrease, earning 387,100 yuan annually compared to 641,400 yuan in the previous year, down 36.9%. In terms of business performance, Yuxing Shares achieved operating revenue of 1.1 billion yuan, down 34.8% year-over-year, and net loss of 357 million yuan, down 4205.4% year-over-year.
Regarding violations (only counting administrative regulatory measures and administrative penalties), two CFOs from listed companies in the plastics industry were penalized from 2024 to present.
In August 2024, the CSRC issued a warning to Yong Yue Science&Technology Co.,Ltd.'s then-CFO Zhu Shuibao and imposed a fine of 1 million yuan. Zhu Shuibao's annual salary was 706,500 yuan, remaining essentially flat compared to the previous year.
In November 2024, Jiangxi Securities Regulatory Bureau issued a warning letter to Mingguan New Materials' then-CFO Lai Xi'an.
