Industrial Bank's Finance Chief Discusses Strategic Focus on Market Analysis and Revenue Stability

Deep News08-28

During the bank's 2026 interim results conference held on August 28, Industrial Bank Co.,Ltd.'s General Manager of the Planning and Finance Department, Lin Shu, reported a robust performance in fee-based income for the first half of the year. The bank achieved net fee and commission income of 14.2 billion yuan, marking an increase of 1.126 billion yuan year-on-year, thereby sustaining a consistent growth trajectory.

Lin attributed this growth primarily to the strong performance of its wealth management and custody businesses. As of the mid-year point, wealth management sales revenue reached 3.03 billion yuan, up 15.6% year-on-year, while custody income totaled 2.16 billion yuan, an 11% increase. These two segments have been the key drivers behind the continued expansion of the bank's overall fee-based business.

Looking ahead to the full year, Lin noted that with deposit rates remaining at low levels, there is a visible shift in how individuals allocate their assets, moving away from pure savings toward more diversified, multi-asset investment strategies. He emphasized that Industrial Bank Co.,Ltd. will persist in enhancing its group asset management framework, deepening the integrated development of its investment banking, asset management, and wealth management operations, with a focus on improving the quality of its intermediary business income.

Regarding other non-interest income, Lin reported that the bank generated 23.172 billion yuan in the first half, a decrease of 1.93% year-on-year. This represents a narrower decline compared to the first quarter, indicating that the overall revenue scale has remained stable. Over the past several years, Industrial Bank Co.,Ltd. has consistently maintained a leading position among joint-stock banks in terms of total revenue scale.

"In 2026, we are certainly aware that the external market environment is complex and challenging, with significant market volatility. We will strengthen our market analysis, optimize our business structure, and continue to keep other non-interest income at a reasonable level," Lin concluded.
