Brian Armstrong, the chief executive of Coinbase Global, Inc., shared his outlook during an interview in Singapore on Thursday. He noted that bitcoin operates on a four-year cycle. In his view, the price has already found its bottom for the current cycle, and as the next "halving" event approaches, he expects the value to climb steadily over the coming one to two years.
Armstrong also highlighted that regulatory clarity in the cryptocurrency sector has improved substantially, adding that the so-called "Clarity Act" is nearing completion. He described this as a significant milestone for the industry's evolution. Even if the legislation ultimately does not pass, he pointed out that U.S. regulators, including the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, have already signaled their readiness to issue definitive rules.
He anticipates that within the next week or two, there will either be a bill coming from the Senate or regulations forthcoming from the agencies. Additionally, Armstrong expressed hope that tokenized stocks will be introduced in the United States "very soon."
