On the afternoon of April 7, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued a notice regarding the adjustment of refined oil product prices. The revised prices will take effect at 24:00 on April 7. Based on a standard 50-liter fuel tank for household vehicles, filling a tank of 92-octane gasoline will now cost an additional 16.5 yuan.
In this round of adjustments, the prices of gasoline and diesel (standard products) have increased by 420 yuan and 400 yuan per ton, respectively. In Hunan Province, the price of 92-octane gasoline has risen to 8.84 yuan per liter, an increase of 0.33 yuan. The price of 95-octane gasoline has increased to 9.40 yuan per liter, up by 0.36 yuan. The price of 0-grade diesel has risen to 8.67 yuan per liter, an increase of 0.34 yuan.
On April 7, the National Development and Reform Commission announced that temporary regulatory measures on domestic refined oil prices would continue. Since the last adjustment on March 23, international crude oil prices have experienced significant volatility. Based on the current pricing mechanism, the maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel should have increased by 800 yuan and 770 yuan per ton, respectively. To mitigate the impact of rising international oil prices on the domestic market, the government has maintained price control measures.
As a result of these controls, the maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel increased by 380 yuan and 370 yuan less per ton, respectively. This translates to a reduction of 0.31 yuan per liter for 92-octane gasoline and 0.32 yuan per liter for 0-grade diesel.
Data indicates that this price adjustment marks the sixth consecutive increase in refined oil prices since 2026. Several market analysts predict that as geopolitical risks gradually subside, the likelihood of a future reduction in refined oil prices is relatively high.
The next window for adjusting retail refined oil prices is scheduled to open at 24:00 on April 21, 2026.
