South Korean President Lee Jae-myung stated on Saturday that the arrival of the artificial intelligence era presents a new opportunity for the nation, pledging to drive its transformation from an industrial follower into a global industry leader.
Lee Jae-myung remarked that the new wave of artificial intelligence offers South Korea a rare development opportunity. He is committed to making the country irreplaceable, fostering a global consensus that "developing industry is impossible without Korea."
The day prior, Lee Jae-myung attended a high-end industry cooperation summit where multiple U.S. global tech giants, including Nvidia, OpenAI, and Anthropic, signed several business cooperation agreements with South Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.
A presidential office official previously revealed that the total scale of the cooperative projects reached this time amounts to as much as $950 billion.
