Global semiconductor supply chain participants are bracing for two highly significant earnings releases this week.
On October 14, ASML, the world's leading lithography equipment maker, will report its third-quarter results for 2026. The following day, TSMC, the world's largest wafer foundry, will release its third-quarter earnings and hold an investor conference.
Throughout this year, ASML has repeatedly raised its performance guidance. In January, the company projected full-year 2026 revenue of 34 billion to 39 billion euros. In April, it lifted that range to 36 billion to 40 billion euros. By July, it further increased the forecast to 43 billion to 45 billion euros. Based on the midpoint of the latest guidance, the full-year revenue outlook has been raised by approximately 20.5% compared to the start of the year, while the gross margin forecast has also been upgraded from 51% to 53% up to 54% to 56%. The company expects third-quarter revenue to reach 11 billion to 12 billion euros, with a gross margin of 55% to 57%.
On the other side, TSMC's third-quarter revenue has already been revealed ahead of schedule. On October 8, TSMC announced that its September consolidated revenue was approximately 511.86 billion New Taiwan dollars, representing a year-on-year increase of 54.6%. For the first three quarters of this year, cumulative revenue reached approximately 3.90 trillion New Taiwan dollars, up 41.1% compared to the same period last year.
