Latest fuel price adjustments have been announced in Hunan province, taking effect from midnight on June 4th. For the average family car with a 50-liter tank, filling up with 92-octane gasoline will now cost 21 yuan less.
This adjustment sees reductions of 525 yuan per ton for gasoline and 505 yuan per ton for diesel (standard product). Specifically, the price of 92-octane gasoline in Hunan is now 8.30 yuan per liter, a decrease of 0.42 yuan. The price for 95-octane gasoline is set at 8.82 yuan per liter, down 0.44 yuan, while 0-grade diesel is priced at 8.11 yuan per liter, reduced by 0.43 yuan.
This marks the second reduction in refined oil product prices this year. The overall trend for domestic fuel prices in 2024 has been eight increases, two decreases, and one adjustment cycle where prices remained unchanged.
According to the standard pricing cycle, the next window for adjusting retail fuel prices is scheduled to open at midnight on June 18th. Market analysis suggests that while there is limited room for further price declines, underlying factors continue to support high price levels. Consequently, the probability of an increase in the next price adjustment is considered high.
