Bank of Communications Deputy President Reports Strong H1 Contributions from Yangtze River Delta Outlets

Bank Of Communications Co.,Ltd. (SSE: 601328) announced during its first-half 2026 results briefing that its Yangtze River Delta branches delivered a net revenue contribution of over 40% to the group, with profit contribution approaching half of the total.

Bank Of Communications Co.,Ltd. Deputy President Yang Tao outlined the bank's strategic focus on supporting Shanghai's five centers development. In economic center construction, the bank's Shanghai operations maintained leading growth rates in both total RMB loans and core lending during the first half.

Regarding financial center initiatives, Bank Of Communications Co.,Ltd. sustained its position as an active market participant, ranking prominently in interbank clearing services and securities and futures market settlements. For trade center development, the bank accelerated expansion of commodity trading scenarios, with cross-border trade finance balances in Shanghai surging 72% from year-end levels.

In shipping center construction, the bank deepened participation in Shanghai's shipping and trade digitalization platform, advancing partnerships with government bodies and shipping enterprises. Its leasing subsidiary, BOCOM Financial Leasing, maintained the industry's top position in shipping leasing asset financing during the period.

Notably, Bank Of Communications Co.,Ltd. increased lending support for Shanghai's three leading industries and six future sectors, with technology enterprise loans in the region growing 18%. The bank's investment arm, registered in Shanghai, allocated over 60% of its national new investment to Shanghai and the broader Yangtze River Delta region under a concentrated regional and sector strategy. The bank also participates in developing Shanghai's public intelligent computing platform to strengthen AI infrastructure.

By end-June, Shanghai's general RMB loan growth ranked first in the market, with market share improving 4 percentage points from year-start. Yangtze River Delta loan increases exceeded RMB 170 billion, lifting market share by 7 percentage points. Across the first half, seven regional branches and five Shanghai-based subsidiaries generated more than 40% of group net revenue and nearly half of profits.

Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Bank Of Communications Co.,Ltd. aims to leverage its multi-license business synergy and integrated cross-border service capabilities, developing distinctive strengths in comprehensive finance, cross-border banking, and wealth management to expand its Shanghai and regional market presence.
