According to the weekly export sales report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, cumulative U.S. soybean exports to mainland China for the 2025/26 marketing year, which began on September 1, reached 10.93 million metric tons as of May 7, 2026. This figure is up from 10.60 million tons the previous week but remains significantly lower than the 22.41 million tons recorded during the same period last year.
During the week ending May 7, the U.S. shipped 337,000 tons of soybeans to China, an increase from the 201,000 tons shipped the prior week.
For the 2025/26 marketing year to date, U.S. soybeans sold to China but not yet shipped totaled 936,000 tons. This represents a decrease from 1.20 million tons the previous week and is substantially higher than the 66,000 tons reported at this time last year.
The total U.S. soybean sales to China for the 2025/26 marketing year, comprising both shipped and unshipped volumes, amounted to 11.87 million tons. This is a decline of 47.2% compared to the 22.48 million tons sold during the same period last year, slightly improving from the 47.5% year-on-year decrease reported the previous week.
Overall, total U.S. soybean sales for the 2025/26 marketing year reached 39.02 million tons, up from 38.92 million tons the week before. However, this total is 18.5% lower than the 47.88 million tons sold in the comparable period last year, showing a slight moderation from the 18.2% year-on-year decline reported the prior week.
