Western Theater Command Unit Hosts Military-Civilian Cultural Co-Building Event

Deep News10-24

A Western Theater Command unit recently joined forces with the Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra to stage a symphonic cultural co-building event themed around carrying forward the Long March spirit and sounding the call of a strong military.

The event, held to mark the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March and to advance military-civilian mutual support and barracks cultural development, brought high-quality symphonic art directly into the barracks by drawing on Sichuan Province's "Joyful Tianfu" public cultural benefit program.

The Sichuan-Tibet Highway is known as the "Long March road" of the new era, and generations of transport soldiers along this route have taken root on the plateau, holding fast to their support duties while carrying forward the great Long March spirit of fearing no hardship and enduring strenuous struggle.

To further enrich the spiritual and cultural lives of officers and soldiers and break down the barriers that keep premium artistic resources from reaching the grassroots, the event leveraged the provincial cultural benefit platform to bring symphonic art onto the barracks grounds, allowing troops stationed long-term on the border to experience classical art up close and immerse themselves in red culture and the thought of building a strong military.

At the performance site, strings and winds resounded in turn with lingering echoes. Artists from the Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra, centering on the Long March theme and the mission of a strong military, carefully arranged revolutionary classics and contemporary martial compositions. The soaring and falling melodies vividly recreated the Red Army's monumental journey of overcoming obstacles and pressing forward during the Long March, while the tender and resonant notes conveyed the original aspiration and mission of revolutionary service members in the new era to serve the country loyally and shoulder their duties with dedication. The entire performance combined intellectual depth, artistic quality and contemporary warmth, drawing rounds of applause from the audience.

Over the long term, the unit and the Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra have continued to deepen military-civilian cultural integration and mutual support co-building, regularly carrying out activities such as bringing art into the barracks, jointly passing on red heritage and jointly cultivating culture. Relying on the advantages of the "Joyful Tianfu" cultural brand, premium public cultural resources have been channeled precisely to the barracks, effectively solving the difficulties faced by transport soldiers who are constantly on the move and have limited and monotonous cultural offerings. This has injected fresh local strength into the building of a strong military culture and established a new pattern of military-civilian mutual support featuring shared purpose, shared resources and shared spiritual cultivation.
