CMRU: HKEX Declares Former Executive Huang Weiping Unsuitable as Director, Issues Public Censure

Bulletin Express05-19

On 19 May 2026, The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (HKEX) released a Statement of Disciplinary Action against Mr Huang Weiping, former executive director of China Metal Resources Utilization Ltd. (CMRU). HKEX has:

• Issued a Director Unsuitability Statement, formally deeming Huang unfit to hold any director or senior‐management position at CMRU or its subsidiaries.

• Publicly censured Huang for serious breaches of the Listing Rules.

The investigation focused on Huang’s obligations under Listing Rules 3.09C and 3.20, which require departing directors to: 1) cooperate fully with HKEX investigations, 2) respond promptly and openly to all queries, and 3) maintain up-to-date contact details for three years after leaving office.

Although aware of the ongoing inquiry, Huang failed to answer HKEX’s investigation and reminder letters, breaching the cooperation requirement. The Listing Committee concluded that his non-compliance constituted a serious failure to discharge director responsibilities.

The sanctions apply solely to Huang Weiping; neither CMRU nor any other past or present directors are implicated. HKEX reiterated that the duty to supply information continues even after a company delists or an individual leaves the board.
