Macro Data and Policy: US CPI/PPI, RBA Decision

The US July CPI data will be released on August 12, with the PPI data on August 13. The Financial Times reported on Thursday that if inflation data runs hot in the coming weeks and market expectations for rate hikes increase, the Fed Chair is prepared to raise rates at the September meeting. The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will announce its interest rate decision on August 11, with the market expecting the cash rate to remain unchanged at 4.35%. The Bank of Japan will release the summary of opinions from its July monetary policy meeting on August 10.
