US consumer sentiment saw a modest improvement in June, buoyed by declining fuel prices following an agreement between the United States and Iran to hold peace talks.
Data released on Tuesday indicated the Conference Board's consumer confidence index increased by 0.6 points to 91.2, with the prior month's figure revised downward. The median estimate from economists was 94.4.
The gauge reflecting current conditions declined, while the measure assessing expectations for the next six months rose.
