CONANT OPTICAL (02276) saw its shares reverse earlier gains and fall nearly 10% following the release of its annual results. At the time of writing, the stock was down 9.58%, trading at HK$47.88, with a turnover of HK$126 million. On the news front, CONANT OPTICAL reported annual revenue of approximately RMB 2.186 billion, an increase of about 6.1% year-on-year. Gross profit reached approximately RMB 918 million, up 15.4% compared to the previous year. Net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 558 million, representing a year-on-year increase of about 30.2%. The company announced that both its functional lenses and standard lenses businesses recorded revenue growth. Revenue from functional lenses rose by 1.7%, while standard lenses revenue increased by 12.6%. However, revenue from custom lenses declined by 0.6%, attributed to U.S. tariff factors. Notably, CONANT OPTICAL disclosed plans to invest RMB 180 million to participate in the latest funding round for domestic AR and AI glasses unicorn Rokid. The investment is intended to acquire up to a 5% stake in Rokid's ordinary shares. This move aims to deepen the company's strategic presence in the smart glasses sector, enhance synergies across the industry chain, and strengthen collaboration with leading industry players.
