Work has kicked off in Gar County, Ali Prefecture, to renovate the riverside walking path, a project aimed at addressing public needs and enhancing local leisure amenities. The initiative focuses on resurfacing the trail along the river with a new plastic material, a direct response to longstanding community requests for better recreational facilities.
According to on-site reports, the paving operation is progressing steadily as crews work diligently to complete the track. Workers are busy with tasks such as spreading, leveling, and compacting the material, with the vibrant colored surface gradually taking shape. The sight of machinery in action and the emerging smooth, new pathway is already adding a fresh aesthetic to the riverside landscape, blending nicely with the natural scenery.
Project leader Huang Xiaojun explained the key upgrade: "We've moved away from traditional hard surfaces, opting entirely for a new type of plastic material that is eco-friendly, slip-resistant, and offers good elasticity. This new surface provides excellent shock absorption, noise reduction, and durability. We are strictly monitoring material quality and construction techniques to speed up the process without compromising standards, aiming for an early completion so residents can benefit from the improved facility as soon as possible."
Local resident Zhong Jie, who regularly uses the riverside for walks and exercise, shared his anticipation: "I come here every day to stroll and work out. Seeing the new plastic surface being laid, it looks so smooth and attractive. Once it's finished, this area will be much more pleasant, and it will be safer and more comfortable for us to relax and stay active."
The renovation covers a total area of 2,970 square meters of plastic paving along a 1,600-meter stretch of the walkway. This effort is a component of the larger Gar County Healthy Theme Park construction project. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance the riverside's slow-traffic leisure environment, providing a safe, comfortable, and scenic space for fitness and recreation for all residents in the Ali region.
