Multiple traders have revealed that QatarEnergy is currently subleasing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, available for immediate delivery, with a lease term running until the end of October.
The vessel has a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters. Its specific name has not yet been determined, and it can be delivered in either a "warm" or "cold" state. The bid deadline is set for July 28, with the offer valid until the following day.
Traders indicate that this leasing move suggests QatarEnergy is not in a hurry to redeploy its carriers back to the Persian Gulf region, amid the ongoing tense situation there.
