South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and Italian Prime Minister Meloni Hold Summit, to Strengthen Cooperation in AI and Chip Sectors

The South Korean presidential office, the Blue House, announced that President Lee Jae-myung and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni agreed on Monday to expand cooperation in areas including artificial intelligence, aerospace, semiconductors, and critical minerals. Prime Minister Meloni, who is currently visiting South Korea, held a summit with President Lee Jae-myung.

The Blue House stated in a declaration that the two nations signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning cooperation in the semiconductor industry, which includes collaboration related to artificial intelligence.

The declaration also indicated that the two leaders agreed to strengthen joint efforts to develop a resilient and reliable supply chain for critical minerals.

Lee Jae-myung and Meloni also discussed collaboration on joint research projects and exchanges, as well as cooperation in tourism and culture, and reaffirmed their commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
