On October 27, the municipal government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (CEEC). Additionally, the Municipal Transportation Bureau entered into an investment and development cooperation agreement for the "Electrification of Dongting Lake" project with CEEC's Hunan Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. and CEEC East China Construction Investment Co., Ltd.
Xie Weijiang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Yueyang Municipal Party Committee, witnessed the signing ceremony and held discussions with Ni Zhen, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of CEEC. Li Zhi, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Yueyang, as well as Yi Fanghui, Chairman of the Provincial Port, Shipping, and Water Resources Group, also attended the signing and discussions.
Xie Weijiang expressed gratitude for CEEC's support in Yueyang's economic and social development. He emphasized that Yueyang is currently implementing the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and formulating its 15th Five-Year Plan, with a focus on port development, petrochemicals, urban clusters, and the Dongting Lake region. He hoped CEEC would expand investments in Yueyang and deepen cooperation in energy, electrification of Dongting Lake, water conservancy, ecological protection, and China-Africa trade.
Ni Zhen thanked Yueyang for its strong support for CEEC's operations in the region. He stated that CEEC would leverage its expertise as a national leader in energy and infrastructure to advance the "Electrification of Dongting Lake" project. Aligning with Yueyang’s 15th Five-Year Plan, CEEC aims to strengthen strategic cooperation and contribute to the city’s high-quality development.
Other attendees included municipal leaders Li Jinsong, Wei Shuping, and Liu Zhi, as well as Deng Can, Deputy General Manager of the Provincial Port, Shipping, and Water Resources Group and Chairman of the Chenglingji Port Group.
