TGS Secures Exclusive Seismic Survey Rights Offshore Brunei

Deep News06-29

Transportadora de Gas del Sur SA (TGS) has been granted exclusive rights by the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam to conduct a multi-client 3D seismic survey in Brunei's offshore waters.

The contract encompasses the acquisition, processing, and marketing of new 3D seismic data under a multi-client framework.

The company stated that this initiative will enable it to secure industry pre-funding to deliver new seismic data. The project aims to enhance understanding of reservoir potential, mitigate exploration risks, and provide support for investment decisions related to future licensing rounds.

It was further noted that the project aligns with the Brunei Petroleum Authority's objectives of attracting international investment and fostering further development within the nation's upstream oil and gas sector.

David Hajovsky, Executive Vice President of Multi-Client at TGS, commented, "We are pleased to collaborate with the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam to develop this new multi-client 3D seismic survey project in Brunei. This project will complement our existing multi-client data coverage and provide a clear pathway for the exploration community to assess Brunei's potential. This award reflects TGS's ongoing commitment to supporting host governments and operators in opening up underexplored regions of the Asia-Pacific."
