Macau gaming stocks rose collectively in Hong Kong trading. At the time of writing, MELCO INT'L DEV (00200) surged 18.23% to HK$4.28. Sands China (01928) gained 4.12% to HK$17.17. GALAXY ENT (00027) increased 3.31% to HK$36.16. MGM China (02282) rose 2.53% to HK$11.35.
The rally follows data released on April 1 by Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, showing March gross gaming revenue reached MOP 22.612 billion, a 15.0% year-on-year increase that exceeded market expectations. For the first quarter, gross gaming revenue totaled MOP 65.873 billion, up 14.3% compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, MELCO INT'L DEV reported an annual profit of HK$1.058 billion for the year ended December 31, reversing a net loss of HK$785 million in the corresponding period of 2024. Net revenue reached HK$40.24 billion, representing an 11.2% year-on-year increase.
