The Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, in collaboration with 21 cities across the province, unveiled the "Cantonese Flavor 21" brand IP on December 22. This initiative showcases representative banquets from each city, featuring a total of 255 dishes.
Each of the 21 cities has curated a banquet that highlights local ingredients and culinary traditions. For example, Guangzhou's "Cantonese Harmony Banquet" includes 13 classic dishes such as steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce and traditional crispy roast pork. Huizhou introduced the "Dongpo Family Banquet," blending Hakka, Cantonese, and Teochew influences with nine main courses, including Xicun chicken and Dongpo pork with Huizhou preserved mustard greens—dishes rich in historical significance. Zhongshan's "Xiangshan Flavor Banquet" features seven nationally recognized geographical indication products, such as Shiqi pigeon and Shaxi braised pork, presenting ten classic local delicacies.
According to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, each banquet reflects the unique flavors and cultural heritage of its region, allowing diners to savor Cantonese cuisine while learning about local history and traditions.
Guangdong continues to strengthen its "Dine in Guangdong" brand. The "Guangdong Food Map" is now available on Tencent Maps, and dining vouchers under the campaign will be distributed until the end of March next year. Restaurants across the province are also offering promotions, including group discounts and special menus for New Year's Eve and Lunar New Year celebrations.
