October 18 marked the launch of Bank of Communications’ “Ward Yixiang Home” Chongyang-themed event and the “Cultural Tourism Grand Performance Comes to Wuxi” kickoff ceremony, held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.

Attendees included Yin Jing, Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Center of the Ministry of Civil Affairs; Lu Min, Deputy Mayor of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government; Yang Tao, Vice President of Bank of Communications; and relevant leaders from Wuxi municipal government departments.

In his remarks, Yang Tao stated that respecting and caring for the elderly is a spiritual gene that has endured in the Chinese nation for thousands of years. Bank of Communications (ASX: 601328 / HKEX: 03328) places great emphasis on pension finance, treating its development as a key measure to serve national strategy. The bank continues to deepen its efforts in pension wealth, pension consumption, and pension services, improving its comprehensive pension finance service layout and striving to excel in the pension finance sector.

In September this year, Bank of Communications launched the “Ward Yixiang Home” pension finance service brand and its first batch of sites. This Chongyang-themed event marked the debut of the “Ward Yixiang Home” service system and online platform, expanding the number of sites to 96 and covering 27 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). The system integrates the bank’s strengths with customers’ needs, relying on both internal and external home site layouts and an integrated online-offline service matrix. It categorizes and consolidates diverse pension service ecosystem resources, striving to build a one-stop comprehensive service platform that connects government platforms with communities and links enterprises with individuals.

Offline, the “Ward Yixiang Home” in-bank sites focus on building four major functional service areas: financial services, government-bank integration, senior activities, and ecosystem co-construction. Working with neighborhood communities, senior universities, and elderly care service institutions, they bring considerate services to the doorsteps of seniors and integrate into their daily social circles. Online, the “Ward Yixiang Home” platform provides senior customers with services including health and wellness living, cultural tourism activities, senior learning, financial services, convenience guides, and safety education, enabling seniors to access policy information without extra trips, enjoy greater daily convenience, and experience more fulfilling spiritual companionship.

At the same time, “Ward Yixiang Home” has established a “one theme per quarter” activity mechanism to continuously enrich the cultural life of senior customers. As the first quarterly theme, the “Life is a Stage” drama culture season uses drama culture as a bond, launching “one city, one play” special themed activities centered on local opera treasures such as Wuxi opera, Cantonese opera, Qinqiang, Yue opera, and Shanghai opera, allowing senior friends to gather through drama, connect through music, and showcase their talents. The “Ward Yixiang Home” platform and offline home sites simultaneously operate content around quarterly themes, forming dual support. Through online promotion, registration, information, and offline themed activity linkage, they further extend the time and space of home services, keeping companionship available at all times.

Cultural tourism is an important chapter for senior friends to enjoy their later years and enrich their retired life, and it is also a distinctive service scenario that “Ward Yixiang Home” focuses on building. At the event, Bank of Communications released the first three health and wellness-themed cultural tourism routes under its “Cultural Tourism Grand Performance” initiative: the Wuxi route connects attractions such as Lingshan, Nianhuawan, and Huishan Ancient Town, offering the Zen charm of Jiangnan water towns; the Dali route incorporates unique experiences such as intangible cultural heritage tie-dyeing and rural living; and the Qingdao route combines mountain and sea sightseeing, coastal leisure, and hot spring wellness. Bank of Communications integrates resources from scenic spots, hotels, and featured merchants along the routes to provide exclusive benefits for senior customers, allowing them to experience beauty amidst mountains and waters.

During the “Ward Yixiang Home” Silver Age Ecosystem Co-construction Signing Ceremony, Bank of Communications Wuxi Branch signed agreements with relevant Wuxi municipal departments including civil affairs and culture and tourism, as well as partners in healthcare, elderly care services, education, tourism, and community sectors. All parties will base their efforts on seniors’ life scenarios, deepen resource coordination, and jointly improve the localized service ecosystem of “Ward Yixiang Home.”
